COLONY COUNTERS

Colony counters are instruments used in microbiology laboratories to facilitate the counting of colonies or CFUs on a plate. Manual colony counters digitally register each colony progressively as the user marks it with a suitable marker. Additional illumination and a magnifying lens facilitate colony visualisation. Automatic colony counters enable rapid counting thanks to image-based technology using a camera and sophisticated software, automatically detecting colonies on the plate and recording the resulting data.
