Cryo-preservation system for the storage and maintenance of microorganisms and culture collections
CRYOINSTANT® is a simple method for maintaining culture collections that offers distinct advantages to repetitive culturing and avoiding such problems as contaminated cultures, loss of viability and loss of original characteristics due to biochemical and genetic changes. The system consists of a vial with 25 coloured plastic beads inside a cryopreservative solution.
CRYOINSTANT® allows the storage of 25 identical cultures in one vial. Large number of strains can be stored in a small space inside a freezer. Individual beads are either streaked on a plate or resuscitated in a suitable broth. Vials are available in six different colours to allow sorting by species, samples, origin, etc.
