Responsibility

Our costumers

Our commitment is to offer our customers an extensive range of supplies in order to ensure their usual needs are met in terms of consumables and chemical/microbiological laboratory materials, with products of proven quality, at a competitive price and with excellent quality of service. By quality of service, we mean the series of activities we undertake to ensure a personal and professional service in all our dealings with customers, and a delivery time of 24/48 h for the vast majority of our products. We also work with our customers by offering them tools to facilitate their daily work (specific catalogues, technical publications, website, e-procurement, etc.), as well as special services that complement our product portfolio.

Our employees/partners

We aim to provide a stable framework in which they are able to develop both personally and professionally, encouraging dialogue, ongoing training and teamwork. We will ensure equal opportunities regardless of gender, race, religion or nationality.

Representing our customers

We will provide them with all of our technical and human potential in order to launch their products on the market in the best possible conditions and achieving the previously agreed commercial objectives. In return, we will require the same level of commitment and seriousness. We are interested in representing any brand/product that contributes to improving the quality of our offer, as long as this does not conflict with any of the other customers we represent and in no case affects the quality of our service.

The environment

Scharlab is certified according to ISO 14001: 2004, which accredits an environmental management system for their production area.

It also has environmental objectives in terms of:

ENERGY: We review our energy consumption annually. Through internal audits and electricity leakage checks, we implement measures to reduce electricity consumption. In 2013, the target of reducing consumption by 18% was achieved thanks to the installation of LED lighting in some production sectors, as well as the replacement of several turbines with more efficient ones.

WATER: Water consumption for cooling our reactors is optimised by means of recirculation systems. The emission of process water is subject to the strictest controls as required by current legislation and is regularly checked by the competent authority to ensure that it is completely safe for discharge into the sewage system.

WASTE: Waste minimisation is part of the Corporate Culture, in addition to the individual objectives of each business area. All of our waste, both ordinary and toxic, is managed by companies approved by the authorities for this purpose.

PACKAGING: All containers and packaging for our products are approved for this purpose. They are chosen with waste minimisation in mind. Therefore, for example, Styropor has been ruled out as a container box for chemicals due to how difficult it is in terms of waste management. The filling material for our shipments is crumpled paper or, failing that, biodegradable paper pulp.

All of our chemical packaging is clearly identified with the regulations in force.

RAW MATERIALS: We choose our raw material suppliers, prioritising those who best adapt to our business culture and who adhere to international regulations on compliance with environmental quality and the protection of labour rights among their employees.
